Building Resilience Through Recognition: Why Entering Awards Matters

Updated: Aug 24, 2025

At last week’s AusMumpreneur Awards, Resilience Mindset was honoured to receive recognition across several categories:

🥇 Gold – Podcast

🥇 Gold – Disabled Business Excellence

🥈 Silver – Creative Entrepreneur

🥈 Silver – Author

🥉 Bronze – Business Pivot

These awards were more than accolades. They were milestones, proof of what can be achieved when we choose to rise, again and again, in the face of setbacks.

Resilience in Action

Resilience Mindset exists to show that life’s hardest moments can become fuel for growth, strength, and transformation. My journey has included multiple health diagnoses, loss, and the challenge of rebuilding more times than I can count. Yet through those experiences, I have learnt that resilience is not about never falling, it’s about standing back up, stronger each time.

The wins at AusMumpreneur are not just for me. They are for every person who has ever been told “you can’t,” and yet found a way to say, “watch me.” They show that resilience is not just a personal quality but a force that shapes businesses, communities, and legacies.

Why Entering Awards Builds Resilience

Many people shy away from entering awards because of fear, fear of rejection, of not being “good enough,” of stepping into the spotlight. But putting yourself forward is itself an act of resilience. It says:

  • I believe in the work I’m doing.

  • I am willing to be seen.

  • I am open to growth, whether I win or not.

Even the process of applying forces you to reflect on achievements, challenges, and lessons. It becomes a powerful tool for self-awareness and growth.

What These Wins Represent

  • Gold – Podcast: Recognition for creating conversations that inspire, educate, and give others strength to keep going.

  • Gold – Disabled Business Excellence: A celebration of building impact and opportunity while living with disability, and proof that adversity and success are not opposites.

  • Silver – Creative Entrepreneur: A nod to innovation, creativity, and fresh approaches to business and resilience coaching.

  • Silver – Author: Recognition of the power of storytelling to heal, connect, and inspire change.

  • Bronze – Business Pivot: A reminder that adaptability is resilience in motion, the ability to shift direction without losing purpose.

A Call to Action

If there’s one lesson Resilience Mindset’s journey through these awards can teach, it’s this: put yourself out there. Enter the award. Tell your story. Claim your space.

You never know who you might inspire, what opportunities may open, or how deeply you may grow simply by stepping forward. Recognition isn’t just about the trophy, it’s about building belief in yourself, your mission, and your capacity to thrive against the odds.

Final Thoughts

Resilience is not something you’re born with. It’s something you build, choice by choice. Choosing to apply for awards, to back yourself, and to embrace both the wins and the lessons along the way, that is resilience in its purest form.

The AusMumpreneur Awards may be over for this year, but the ripple effect continues. And at Resilience Mindset, we will keep showing the world that no matter what you face, you can always rise, rebuild, and shine.
